Antoine Jonquière is a French social documentary and portrait photographer with a strong passion for travels. Driven by research led self-initiated projects, his work aims to explore countries and cultures through the relation existing between tradition and modernity.
His latest work 'Toddy Tappers' documents the life of Tamil Sri Lankan Palm wine collectors. Shot in collaboration with American photographer Marcus Q. Rhinelander, the series highlights the dignity with which the toddy tappers face growing hardships in and out of their professional trade.
